With follow-up hits 'I Wanna Live' and 'Wichita Lineman' paving the way for his enormously successful CBS variety show The Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour, Campbell rode a trail of hit singles well into the 1970s. This hits collection reflects his wide-ranging repertoire and flair for mixing old and new. Our review: :Those seeking an introduction to the 'Rhinestone Cowboy' would be better served with the more-focused (and less-expensive) Very Best of Glen Campbell or perhaps the two-disc Glen Campbell Collection. This collection does include Campbell's biggest and brightest, but often wanders off course to include covers, live takes, and instrumentals. Not that these make for bad listening--they're simply not essential hits, as this set's title would have you believe.
